Online Application
This stage only required a CV, with no additional questions.
How to respond for success
Ensure your CV has a clear structure, beginning with short section on academics and then extended section on relevant experience including university society positions and other internships. I had lots of recent experience in sales-based positions which will have aided my application.
Expect around a 1 month wait before advancing to the next stage.
Psychometric Tests
At this stage there are 2 online tests looking at critical thinking and basic numerical skills.
Example
The critical thinking section was largely brain-teaser based. The numerical skills section was more graph and data interpretation based.
How to respond for success
It’s important to work quickly in these tests but also accurately. Don’t end up going too fast through and finding that you haven’t fully thought about your answers because you’re feeling pressured by the count-down clock. I used JobTestPrep to aid in preparing for these tests. Practice makes perfect, and you won't perform at a high standard until you've become familiar with the typical layout/process.
Expect around a 1 month wait before advancing to the next stage.
Virtual Interview
This stage was a single recorded interview lasting around 30 mins.
Example
Questions were primarily about personal skills, strength based questions, and talking about relevant experience.
How to respond for success
Have a clear structure. Personally, I followed the STAR (Situation Task Action Result) method where possible, and ensure you have examples ready to share.
Expect around a 2 week wait before advancing to the next stage.
Assessment Centre
This was a full day, 8.30am - 4pm. It is split up into various exercises, first of which was a 1:1 strengths based interview. There was also an individual assessment on critical thinking and data analysis alongside some basic numerical testing. Finally, there was a group exercise, discussing a problem faced by a company in a given scenario and coming to a conclusion. After this we split up into 1:1 interviews to discuss the conclusions we came to in our group and to dive into the case study a little deeper.
Example
Case study topics vary from each session, so it's rare they repeat directly, however as some rough guide mine was about ESG and budgeting.
How to respond for success
Throughout the day, I ensured I was as open as possible, encompassing everyone’s view in team tasks and showing I was open to change and differing views. I also tried to demonstrate the ability to follow and lead.
