Online Application

You are required to fill out general information about yourself then submit only a CV.

How to respond for success

I did research on the company and I used the requirements for the internship as key terms to put into my application to show I was suited

Expect a 5 day wait before progressing to the next stage.

Careers Unlocked Assessment

I had to undergo one online assessment. It took around an hour and it involved games to test aptitude, there were a variety of different sections.  I didn't necessarily prepare as there was nothing to actually prepare as it was games rather than maths questions.

Example

There weren't any questions but they shows me games that I had to complete to test ability to recognise patterns for example.

How to respond for success

I would recommend taking your time and answer the best you can as there is not one answer.

Expect a month's wait before progressing to the next stage.

Virtual Interview

This stage involved an online interview assessment. Questions would pop up then you would be given 2 minutes to think about them, were given a certain amount of time to answer them roughly about 1 to 2 minutes depending on the question, there was about 8 questions so it took around an hour. I looked up general interview questions to prepare myself for what could be asked and had a prepared answer for why I wanted to work at that company rather than somewhere else

How to respond for success

I used relevant experience to back up my answers. I had done research on the area I wanted to go into as well as the company so I was prepared.

Expect a 3-4 week wait before progressing to the next stage.

Assessment Centre

My assessment day was 5 hours long and consisted of a zoom interview with a member of staff, group work and individual work all to be completed in the time. I had kept my interview answers from the other section.

Example

We had to answer questions as a group based on a case study. We also had to solve some numeracy questions which took around half an hour each.

How to respond for success

I knew what the role entailed and was able to answer why I wanted to work for the company and what made it stand out for me. I made sure to look presentable. I would advise students to watch their timing as the aim of the day is to be able to organise yourself and schedule items in, make sure you manage your time well. Also in the group work, make sure you encourage everyone to contribute as they really valuable collaboration so if someone is being quiet, make sure to include them.

Expect a 3-4 week wait before being offered a position.
